Clinic Sues Doctor Over Sex Allegations

A dermatology center on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is suing a doctor who used to work there for fraud, charging that he lied about his credentials, concealed that he was facing charges of sexual misconductand apparently had sex with a patient in the office.

The Fifth Avenue Skin Care Center sued Dr. Barry J. Heck for $1 million on Friday.

Dr. Heck, 50 years old, who had offices in Bridgeport and Darien, Conn., was hired last fall by Dr. Richard J. Coburn, a plastic surgeon, to run the Fifth Avenue clinic.

Papers filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan said Dr. Heck hid that the Connecticut Department of Health Services was investigating him. Connecticut revoked his license on Dec. 15, 1992 after finding he had sexually attacked two women.
