Many Americans Not Happy With Medical Care

Boston (eCanadaNow) – According to a report, many Americans in the United States are not happy with their medical care and the health-care system as a whole.

Many Americans have stated that the cost of care is simply too high and that they also experience more medical errors than other people around the world.

A survey of seven countries was held by The Commonwealth Fund to come to this conclusioni that the highest number of people unhappy with their medical care comes from Americans in the United States.

U.S. patients had the highest out-of-pocket costs as well as the most problems paying off those large medical bills.

Karen Davis, Commonwealth Fund president stated “It’s easy to say that we have the best health system in the world, but it’s really important to look at the evidence to see what the data shows.  We are certainly the most expensive health-care system.  What these surveys have shown year after year is that patients in the U.S. experience more problems with access to care because of costs.”

Over 12,000 adults were surveyed in Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and the United States.

U.S. adults are most likely to go without medical care due to costs, as well as being most likely to report medical errors, and have highest out-of-pocket costs.  They also struggle the most paying medical bills.

37% of U.S. adults stated that cost kept them from taking prescribed medications.
